Chad Hutson Littlefield

(February 11, 1977 – February 2, 2013)

Chad Hutson Littlefield was born in Dallas, Texas, and graduated from De Soto High School in 1995. A proud lifelong Texan, he lived in the Midlothian area and worked as a logistics manager. He was a devoted husband to his wife, Leanne, and a loving father to their daughter, Morgan.

Those who knew him described Chad as a quiet, humble, and loyal man of strong Christian faith. He often said he was simply “a regular guy just taking care of business,” and he was happiest spending time with his family and close friends.

Chad’s most significant public connection came through his deep friendship with Chris Kyle. The two men were neighbors and trusted friends. After Kyle left the Navy, Chad regularly supported him in his efforts to help struggling veterans. On February 2, 2013, Chad accompanied Kyle to the Rough Creek Lodge shooting range in Erath County as they attempted to assist a Marine veteran dealing with severe mental health issues. Both men were murdered that day.

Though he never served in the military himself, Chad Littlefield is remembered for the quiet loyalty and willingness to help others that defined his life and his final act of friendship.
