Ellis County Veterans & Military Center Project

The American Legion Chris Kyle Post 388 is dedicated, through our proposal for the Ellis County Veterans & Military Center, to honoring the legacy of Chris Kyle, Chad Littlefield, Veterans, those still on active duty, U.S. Reserves, and National Guard by establishing a permanent community hub that empowers all who have served and are still serving from Ellis and surrounding counties through comprehensive services, community events, and educational partnerships – fostering patriotism, camaraderie, and inspiration for generations to come.

Our mission for the Center is to consolidate military and civilian resources through ONE CENTRAL LOCATION to provide efficient and effective support and fellowship for Veterans, active duty, reserves, guards, and their families.

Help us accomplish this goal and Donate Today.

Establishing Our Home Base

We understand that we cannot offer everything all at once. So, our approach will come in phases. The first goal is the acquisition of the land and the establishment of the initial facilities - primarily the main office and meeting facilities. We cannot do this without the help of our community leaders and community support. From there, we grow.

Services & Resources

Private offices, for HIPAA and other privacy requirements, would be designated for Veterans Advocates to work directly with service members and Veterans to help them navigate the services available to them while preserving confidentiality. These Advocates are there to work effectively with the Veteran and the various government agencies and organizations.

A Home For Chris Kyle Post 388

The American Legion Chris Kyle Post 388 of Midlothian, Texas, does not have a permanent home. Our Post meets the second Monday of each month at the Midlothian Civic Center for our business meetings but has no other facility to provide services, activities or events for our local veterans and the community. As such, Post 388 does not have the face in our community that it deserves.

Our proposal is to create a central hub in Ellis county where Veterans and those still serving can obtain the services and benefits they have earned in one central location. This will also serve as a permanent home for our signature American Legion Post. We know this can be accomplished because it already has been accomplished at CampV in Tyler, our neighbor to the east of us.
